Booth capturing and bogus voting accusations on Gujarat BJP leader’s son

According to reports, Vijay Bhabhor, a BJP leader’s son and party member, broke into a voting station in Dahod, Gujarat, and live broadcast the event before taking it down from social media. According to allegations, he engaged in alleged fraudulent voting with others and verbally assaulted officials. The accused in the widely shared video asserts that his father is the rightful owner of the EVM and further equipment.

Based on a report from Santrampur Mamlatdar I.P. Pathan, Mahisagar ASP V.P. Bheda informed TNIE that a FIR has been filed against two people, Vijay Bhabhor and Magan Damor.

“The charges include IPC Section 128, 121, 122, 131/B, 171/D, and 135. Both the accused have been detained,” ASP Bheda said. “Presently, we’re probing the involvement of the presiding officer in the incident. If his complicity is established, appropriate action will be taken against him as well,” he added.

Bhabhor, according to the police officer, came at the voting place at 5:49 p.m. and left at 5:54 p.m. In the little time that passed, he supposedly did a live Instagram feed and participated in fraudulent voting by selecting votes for two other people.

Following the event, Dr. Prabhaben Taviad, the Congress candidate from Dahod, lodged a complaint against Vijay Bhabhor with the district election officer and collector.

The Election Commission has been urged to act in reaction to the occurrence by the Congress party. Following the escalation of the event, a FIR has also been filed by the relevant area’s Tehsildar. Neha Kumari, the Mahisagar District Collector, has opened an investigation into the situation.

Dr. Manish Doshi, a spokesman for Congress, questioned if common people would be permitted to commit such crimes without facing any consequences. “It is a very serious matter.. Why has the police failed to act against the BJP leader’s son?” he asked. Doshi urged the Election Commission to arrange a re-vote at the booth.

The event was reported from booth 220 Parthampur, which is located in the Mahisagar district (part of the Dahod Lok Sabha constituency) and comes under the Santrampur assembly constituency. In addition to being the state government’s minister of education, Kuber Sinh Dindor is the current MLA for this seat.
